Comments: Faramarz, Where are you getting these stats? Not surprising! Reality hasn’t sinked in yet!!!
Comments: But that’s just perceptions. How about reality? The US actually has one of the *lowest* rates of social mobility of any developed country. Both upward mobility and the idea that hard work translates into success are *less true in the US than almost anywhere else* 
Comments: And Americans view themselves as more upwardly mobile than people from other countries, feeling that they will move up the ranks of society in the coming years. Between this and the "hard work brings success" chart, this is the American Dream distilled in two graphics. 
Comments: Not sure how that emoji got so big.
Comments: It gets even better: As it happens, Americans are also the most likely to say that despite the gap between rich and poor being so large, nothing should be done about it  "Yes some people are very rich and some people are very poor, that’s life", essentially.
Comments: I love the way ShahollAhis still like to connect dots-well learned from the CIA-orchestrated coup during Mosadegh era. In absence of anything real, that labeling still works for them. If you criticize, you must be AmrikA setiz and therefore a communist.

Comments: I think all this data only make the point that Shahryar is making. This assumes intelligence that is not there. Despite recognizing the inequality, they cannot make the link to say that this could change by the government.
Comments: But: Americans are by far the least likely to say government should try to narrow the gap between rich and poor, and the most likely to say it’s up to low-income people themselves. The old "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" philosophy 
Comments: Continuing from yesterday: Could it be that Americans still don’t appreciate the severity of US inequality? It doesn’t look like it: Americans are more likely to describe their country’s income distribution as "very unfair" than people in any other peer country

Comments: The saddest part is that we don’t have any candidates worth voting for. Also, depending on where you live, your vote probably means nothing. I voted in Maryland, CA and Mass. all democratic states. My vote surely had no impact. I should move to PA or FL!!!
