Comments: We used to go to the Big Bear couple of times a year for many years. Once on the way back, we got stuck in a snow storm and traffic was atrocious; it took us about 3 hours to get back home also. After that, it took us a couple of years to get back. But Big Bear always brings good memories.

Tajikistan took the lead through Vahdat Hanonov's first-half goal before Khalifa Al Hammadi forced extra time with a stoppage-time header. In the shootout, UAE's Caio Canedo had his effort saved by goalkeeper Rustam Yatimov before Tajikistan's Alisher Shukurov scored the decisive spot kick.
Tajikistan are now only the second tournament debutants since Australia in 2007 to reach the quarter-finals but this was a much bigger upset for the minnows compared to an established Australian team who made the switch to the AFC. Ranked outside the top 100, the central Asian side managed by Petar Segrt sit 42 rungs below UAE, a team that had reached the semi-finals in both the 2015 and 2019 editions. "Nobody will sleep in Tajikistan tonight," a grinning Segrt told reporters. "At 1-1 in the 94th minute... everybody was feeling down, but I told the players quickly to get up. If you fall down, get up. "I shouted at them, 'Come on, everything is possible. Don't give up.' This is the character of the player, the coaches, the country and their fighting spirit. Alisher Dzhalilov went very close to making it 2-0 when he got on the end of a cross at the far post but blasted it wide while Nuriddin Khamrokulov saw a header from a corner fly to the right of the post. UAE eventually made them pay in stoppage time when Al Hammadi headed home to force extra time as the fans of the Gulf country found their voice and the beat of their drums reached fever pitch. But the UAE supporters were stunned into silence when Tajikistan converted all their spot kicks to spark wild celebrations from the dugout. Segrt broke his glasses in the celebrations when they sealed qualification from the group stage and this time the Croatian was careful. "I was lucky, I saw the players coming (to celebrate) and I went to the team manager and handed it to them saying, "Save my glasses," he said. Tajikistan will find out their quarter-final opponents on Monday when Iraq face Jordan. Bento said they could not control the game after losing midfielder Abdullah Ramadan to injury early in the first half and added that he did not care about the speculation surrounding his future after their exit. "I said it would be a balanced game and that's what happened. Sometimes we focus too much on teams that lose, in this case it's important we congratulate the opponent," he said. The match was forced into an additional 30 minutes after UAE's Khalifa Al Hammadi scored in the fifth minute of second half added time to cancel out Vahdat Hanonov’s opener at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium. Goalkeeper Rustam Yatimov was Tajikistan’s hero, judging correctly to deny Caio Canedo’s penalty when the shootout was tied 1-1 as the Central Asian side extended their debut campaign to the quarter-finals, with either Iraq or Jordan their next opponents. Both teams showed plenty of attacking intent right from the onset with UAE having the first sights at goal. The chance came within the opening minute as Fabio Lima’s free-kick was palmed away by Tajik goalkeeper Yatimov, followed by striker Canedo’s attempt from outside the box that sailed too high five minutes later. However, it was Tajikistan who opened the scoring after defender Zoir Dzhuraboev’s inch perfect cross was headed into the bottom left corner of the UAE goal by Hanonov just as the match hit the half-hour mark. UAE almost responded immediately with Zayed Sultan’s right-footed attempt from the centre of the Tajikistan box forcing Yatimov into making a diving save. The Emiratis spent the rest of the first half continuing to make forays into the Tajik penalty area, with charges from the likes of Canedo, Lima and Yahya Al Ghassani, but failed to find a way through. The second half began in similar fashion with both teams maintaining their offensive mindset but it was once again the tournament debutants who came close to doubling their lead with Ehson Panjshabe and Alisher Dzhalilov forcing saves out of UAE captain Khalid Eisa. Tajikistan should have gone further ahead in the 60th minute when Parvizdzhon Umarbayev’s through ball found Dzhalilov just outside the box, but the Istiklol midfielder shot straight at Eisa. Dzhalilov had another great chance 10 minutes later when Shahrom Samiev sped down the right flank before floating a beautiful cross but the number 10 wasted the golden opportunity by sending the ball wide. The missed chances cost Tajikistan as UAE equalised right at the end, with defender Al Hammadi rising high to nod home Ali Saleh’s free-kick in the fifth minute of added time, taking the game to an additional 30 minutes. Neither side looked eager to take risks in added time with Yatimov producing the only save of the shootout to ensure Tajikistan's dream campaign continued.

Comments: Maghsoud have a great time in Big Bear. I wish I was there too. It is a lot of fun. My driving story of big bear is that after a snow storm we decided to go up for skying. Turned out that they had closed the road and demanding chains. So, after 3 hours of wait, we turned around and come back.

Comments: This latest episode of calling Rashti Sya is an old trick out of their bag. Smearing and labeling. When they are exposed and do not have an answer, they use labels to dismiss legitimate opinions. This has been done to many of us, including Zinsky, and Shahryar recently. But this tactic has long been used before that against Sya originally, Simply Ken, then against blue fans, which in part was responsible for some of them moving to Tourang's site, and then Rashti, me and a number of others. Sadly, this resulted in a lot of people leaving this page.
Comments: As for Sya, yes, he was in Canada first. I think he studied there. Then he moved down to the south. I thought it was Tennessee but now LOL confused me. May be he is right and it was Alabama. Regardless, he was working for a company there before moving to Atlanta. After that he found a job in California, I believe in LA. He did have hot feuds mainly with Shahin, but Farzad jumping in to help Shahin took him on an opposition path to the both of them. Comments: A few questions, for me to answer. Yes, there are several LOLs. I cannot figure out why this is. From the messages, it is very obvious who is who. There is the original LOL which I like. But then there are all these other shady characters. I have asked several times for people to chose a unique handle without an avails. Reza and Maghsoud did agree to this, and we much appreciate this and I believe there is a greater relationship since they have chosen their unique handles than before.
