Comments: Faramarz, I liked Rezaeian's comments, it came from the heart and it sounds like it was a long time coming. Those writers have to understand they can either be a fan of TM or the enemy of it. Hopefully, they learned a lesson today. Thanks to Rezaeian.
Comments: And in regards to our PKs, both in this game and in the PK shootout against Syria, I have to say that I have never seen such high-quality penalties from any other team, and this includes all top teams in the World, including Argentina, France, England, and others. I will not be surprised if coaches from other countries use our PK shooting styles during the last two games to train their players. What an outstanding style, discipline and execution; all basically "Flawless".
Comments: I agree, the entire 11 men and the coaching staff were the MVP today. They sure meant it when they chose "ta paaye jan baray iran" as their team slogan and they proved it today.
Comments: By the way, after watching the highlights posted by Zinsky, I noticed that at least one of the British announcers really expected Japan to win and made one comment that Iran missed an opportunity and should not since they will not get many of those chances. Boy, did our team prove him wrong. Great job, Team Melli.
Comments: Now we can all appreciate how TM players did in the penalties the other day and today. It's not easy to take one in a shootout. It takes focus and confidence of a winner. Comments: Doostaneh Aziz, As far as the MVP of our team for today; I would think maybe for the first time ever, I can announce that is should be the whole team. This team played an exceptional game as a whole and deserves to be called the MVP.

Comments: Of the six penalties we have taken so far, none of them were savable
Comments: On MVP, it is definitely between JB and Saradr. Sardar definitely kept Japanese defense on their toes opening up for others and also creating chance leading to the goal
Comments: One thing I have seen they do is that they have someone who is not taking the PK to stand at the spot and set everything up. The person who is actually going to take the PK is standing back and gathering his focus. JB clearly had recovered from the excitement of the moment and delivered a world class PK!
Comments: Faramarz, I agree with you on penalties. 👍 All the penalties taken were monster penalties. I would say world-class.
Comments: Seemed like the roles were switched, we played more aggressive and Japan was happy to go to extra time and possibly penalty kicks
Comments: I switched and watched replay of our game. This game was boring. :) Here is what I saw: Sardar had a somewhat good game. The pass that led to the goal, his own goal which was called offside 🤔 😳 and his nice header which barely missed the goal. The penalty taken by JahAnbakhsh was amazing 👏 🤩
Comments: I was surprised to see Japan pulling back and playing defense. Not their style at all. So, I would say the reason they pulled back was due to pressure by Iran. Japan's defense looked very vulnerable on many occasions. Also, our defense seems very solid (except for the one breakdown causing the goal)
Comments: To me, one of the biggest surprise of our game today was that we dominated the midfield. This is very unlike us against hard working teams like Japan and Korea. Do you guys think this was because Japan pulled back or did they run out of gas?
Comments: That is pretty funny, but yeah he did have a role in our success. :) |
