Comments: Doostan, I really want this "Good" game / "Bad" game theory to be wrong for us. A great team cannot do that and remain great. But it seems like we do follow that pattern all the time. Not being able to sustain the level once we play a great game. Having said that, from what I have seen, we are not playing THAT bad. We do need a kind of a talk that CQ used to give to our team during half time in locker room. I just don't think GN has any idea on what to do or say. He is clueless.
Comments: This is the big test for GN. If we come back from the disaster of 1st half and win this game, I will give him all the credit. If not, he needs to go away for sure.
Comments: We are playing so unorganized! I don’t know what happened to the team. Once again, after a possible penalty which wasn’t even reviewed, the team fell apart! They just didn’t recover! Maybe a break can help
Comments: I never like early goals; for some reason, the team who scores early gets complacent and defensive..., they shouldn't, but they do. My experience is that the team scores early usually loses 1-2 (remember Iran v Japan)? Hopefully, Iran will turn this around in the 2nd half, but I am not as happy as I was when we were behind one goal vs Japan. My concern is 2 things; can GN do or say anything during half time to change this? History shows, he cannot and he does not. The 2nd concern is for us to give up an early goal in the 2nd half, basically killing us.

Comments: No surprises as far as lineup. Once again, it’s about mental resilience. TM could hurt themselves if not mentally ready. This is an old team which could be a blessing as far as experience and mental strength.

Qatar, however, will be equally up for the task as it looks to defend the title it won in resounding fashion in UAE 2019, the-afc.com wrote. Iran has won its last six matches against Qatar, including a 1-0 win in the AFC Asian Cup 2015 group stage. Iran outscored Qatar 11-1 in those six games. This will be Iran’s eighth AFC Asian Cup semi-final, the joint-highest with Korea Republic. Team Melli, however, has not progressed past the semi-final stage in its last six attempts stretching back to 1980, with Japan defeating it at this stage in the 2019 edition. Iran won three consecutive editions between 1968 and 1976, a feat which no other team has managed. A fourth title will draw the team level with Japan at the top of the all-time list. Qatar is the ninth team to reach the semi-finals of AFC Asian Cup in two consecutive editions. Iran’s Sardar Azmoun has failed to score in his last three appearances in the AFC Asian Cup, his longest goalless streak in the competition. He has, though, made three assists in his last three matches, two more than in his first 11 games. Qatar’s Akram Afif has created 3.5 chances per game when he starts in AFC Asian Cup matches (38 chances in 11 starts), more than any other player who started at least seven games since 2007. Both sides boast extremely powerful strikeforces with Iran set to welcome Mehdi Taremi back from suspension, with the forward expected to partner Azmoun.
