We have this سببی relative from Yazd:) He has been in the U.S. since 1969. He is a builder, well off and he is a super Islamic Republic supporter. Like shish dong. He has not been in iran since his last visit in 1976. He talks about Shah Ismail Safavi as if he is talking about Mohammad. A very pro Shia. But he is super rich. He drinks, he does jendeh bazi. I am sorry I say this but he eats prostitutes pussy but refuses to eat pork. A lot of relatives broke contacts with him. He is a little قاطی. Like we ask him who in a right mind supports IRI and he is like IRI is the only country that stands firm in front of USA without fear. Akbar Agha.

Oil prices are climbing amid signs the U.S. may be planning to launch military strikes on Iran, raising questions about the potential economic fallout of heightened conflict in the region.
President Trump has ratcheted up pressure on Iran, home to some of the world's largest oil reserves, over the country's disputed nuclear program. Open hostilities between the countries could constrict global oil flows, raising U.S. energy prices and driving up inflation, according to economists.
While Mr. Trump hasn't yet made a final decision about whether to strike, top national security officials have told the president that the military could be ready as soon as Saturday, sources familiar with the discussions have told CBS News.
At the inaugural meeting for Mr. Trump's "Board of Peace" on Thursday, the president said Iran has about 10 days to make a deal ending its nuclear program, or "bad things will happen."
"Maybe we're going to make a deal," he said. "You're going to be finding out over the next probably 10 days."
How high could oil prices rise?
The most immediate economic impact would be felt in the oil market, given that Iran's crude production and its control of the northern side of the Strait of Hormuz, which is used by ships carrying about 20% of the world's daily oil supply. On Thursday, a barrel of benchmark U.S. crude rose 2.6% to $66.71, a 16% increase since the start of the year.
The impact of a military conflict would depend on the scale and intent of an American attack, including whether U.S. forces avoided strikes on Iranian oil facilities and on any response from Tehran, Wall Street analysts noted.
"If [Iran's] oil infrastructure is hit and oil supplies are affected ... we suspect that oil prices could rise towards $100 per barrel, especially as that would raise the probability that Iran attempts to block shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz," Capital Economics analysts said in a recent research note.

What is a leftie? It is one of those terms that is left over from cold war era and only used by the older generation. Does it mean communist? ShahpllAhis use it as anything that is against RP. What are your cousins? Communists? Or simply not shahollahi?

I do have a few cousins (lefties) who passionately hate RP. Like personal. Anout Iran they don't talk about this regime anymore. They are worried what if RP comes back. And when you ask them what has he done, they keep talking about his father. Nobody complains about Reza Shah Kabir 😀
RP is a patriot and meehandoost but as Faramarz said inkareh nist. This is a revolution.

It will not be like you bomb and kill the leadership and key individuals and then someone says befarma to RP and he goes. Whoever takes power will need an army.
You will have an interim government led by a seasoned IRI diplomat like Rouhani and then maybe 6 months or a year later we will see a referendum or something.
So, the ultimate goal will be achieved but not immediately it will take time.

Zinsky, my family and relatives are the same. All for RPG and they were pro revolution in 57 . those young kids in iran as you said whatever changes this islam nekbat of past 47 years.

Can America/Israel achieve regime change from the skies?
As I mentioned, I’m not sure. With people ready to fight, it could be the catalyst needed to overwhelm the regime, or that is the hope. It all depends on the strategy of US/Trump. Do they really want a regime change or just a weak version of the current regime?

As a veteran of the Iran-Iraq war I resent the use of RPG for Reza Pahlavi since it evokes many good and bad memories for me. It is not funny. If you want to be funny call him PKK(Pir Kodak Kodan).

I am not sure "nice" is the right word to describe RPG. I think lack of backbone or being an asset better describes him. I do not think he is nice. Because if he was, he would have reigned in on his violent supporters. I think when it comes down to it, like his father, he will imprison nay sayers and kill them.

My biggest problem is that when you come in as an assets who has nothing and is entirely at the mercy of a foreign power to come to power and stay, you will have to do what they say. If they tell u give up a few islands or regions, you have no choice but to obey. Case in point was his father.

What does the “G” in RPG stand for?🤔
Either way, the fact that we believe he is too nice has to make you wonder about us. What does it mean to be too nice? If it means too liberal, then it is fine with me. If it means he is a puppet and can’t think for himself or the country, then I’m worried.
We are talking about Reza Shah as being a tough guy. He was but when he took power, the world was different. Was he tough with the world or tough with the people who he realized need guidance in his country?
I’m not sure if RPG is either. He is saying the right things to make sure people are not afraid of a new dictator. Do we want a dictator? Is that what Iran/Iranians need? I don’t have the answer. It might be needed during the transition but in all reality, what dictator would take over, organize the country, get it going the right way and then hand it over to a democratic system?

Faramarz,
Once again, based on what I hear from my family back home, they believe if Trump/US use their might the right way (targeted attacks on leaders and forces royal to the regime), the people can have a semi equal chance to fight and take over the country. I’m not convinced but if they want it, who am I to argue with them. Don’t get me wrong, I have argued with them in the past but at this stage and after the massacre of thousands, I’m not going to argue anymore. If that is the only way people of Iran want it to happen, I support them with lots of anxiety and hope.

This is how my family splits into different groups. Anyone who is 60 or older and remembers the Shah and the times during his regime wants to go back to it. Of course my family was always against this regime and against the revolution from get go.
People between 40-60 are mainly following the 1st group as they have heard about the “good” times.
Anyone younger than 40 wants regime change with every fiber of their being. They are not pro this guy or that lady, they just want change. They want basic freedom, basic jobs that could pay for basic life. They want to get married and have kids but they know they can’t under current circumstances. They are mainly studying or have studied with the hope to get out of Iran. They don’t want to leave but feel it is the only way.
Outside Iran, most are older people like myself. We want a free country that we could visit or live in without fear of this and that.
