Reza jan, have a great trip. Keep us posted how it goes. Boy I want to hear how they react when you tell them you are bringing four phones in. :)

Agha Zinsky war is a business for the USA. It is the biggest business it has. It is like investing in future IPOs. They go in destroy a whole lot and then use the money from the country to build it back. Lashkhors like europe gather the crumbs.

This is why I think your assumption will never happen. USA will not let the middle east to be in peace. To be honest, this war as it is, is too small. It needs other countries to get involved. Then it is big money. Because the investment in Iran is not panning out and the akhunds are not biting, they had to go to europe and drag Ukraine into a war.

Just another note. As you might know, we all need “khorojee” that needs to be paid in advance. It’s not much but pain in the ass. You can’t pay cash at the airport so get them paid either online (you need a debit card) or go to some specific ATMs that are available for that purpose. There are ATMs at the airport just for that. I believe it was 400,000 toman/person. I kept my receipts but they have it in the system when you are leaving and don’t ask for it anymore (used to be part of the passport check process to show them the receipt).

Reza,
Have a great time. I would tell the airport staff that the phones are for personal use and will not be left in Iran or sold. They probably will need you to have them with you when you leave. Keep all paperwork. That should be fine. In all reality, if less than a month, you don’t need to tell them anything.
Just remember, iPhones are the major issues. 13 and above will not work unless someone does some magic to them (I’m not expert but they are used somehow).
Other smartphones should be fine. Don’t take any fancy phones if you can. Make it easy on yourself.
I took 4 used iPhone 12 and my family have to figure a way to either register them or just use WiFi to have FaceTime with me ( which was the main reason I took them there). FaceTime works best for video chats in Iran vs other apps that requires VPN.

Let’s assume you get up to the news that Israel, all Arab nations and Iran reached an agreement to live in peace and harmony. Not going to happen but let’s say it did. What will happen to all the bases US has in the area? What about $$$$$ spent on military equipment coming from US/Russia and the rest? How about all the aid sent to the area? What would the middle men do without all this cash? Who would support the regimes in the area that have been telling their citizens without them in power the other side will destroy them and take away everything?
As I said, this is a multi level chess game without a clear winner at the end. No one in charge wants the game to end. Keep on playing it to create an atmosphere of chaos and use it to fuel their agenda. There is too much money and power for the players. Whatever it takes to keep it going!

Agha Zinsky tashakor. I am all set to go in two days. Have a letter from the embassy and will let you guys know how things go. I will be there for two weeks but may extend if things go well. My plan is to have a short visit with the relatives and then go on a tour. I hope to see outside the cities. I am also taking four phones with me but will used  them all ourselves. I will make sure to register them at the airport. Agha Zinsky, if I plan to bring them back, do I still need to register them at the airport?

International relations are a complicated chess game played with multiple players at the same time.
At this stage, Iran is the player next to make a move. The funny part of this game is that none of the players want the game to end. Check mate is not the desired outcome. The game must go on!

For those who are going to Iran soon and want to take a phone with you. You need to declare them at the airport to be able to register them later on. iPhone 13 and up are not allowed. If you don’t declare them at the airport, the process is much harder. I’m not sure how many phones per person is allowed.
Phones could be used for a month but after that it becomes inactive. I took 4 phones for my family but didn’t know about the airport rule. For now, they can’t be used unless someone pays someone to make them registrable.
I suppose if you take your own phone and want to use it there, rules might be different.

I don't like Biden's policy on Israel. But he did honor Iran's demand. Which was allowing them to produce and sell the oil at full capacity. He did not go back to JCPOA. he only honored what was in the JCPOa and that under jcpoa no country can sanction iran oil.
Every president supports Israel it is not just Biden. But Biden is more balanced.

Biden and the democrats are walking an impossible line. From one end they do not want to lose the jewish support and from the other side they do not want to lose the support of so many people who want the US to be part of this genocide. This is of course impossible and Biden and the democrats will lose the election for it.

As for Iran, I do not think they will retaliate. At least not any time soon.

What can be said!!! This is after Israel bombed Iran Embassy in Syria! Has this ever happened before that a government bombs another country’s embassy in a 3rd country?
The United States fully supports the defense of Israel against threats from Iran," a senior Biden administration official said.

The U.S. has picked up intelligence that Iran is planning a retaliatory attack that would include a swarm of Shahed loitering drones and cruise missiles. Officials say the timing and target are unknown, but a proportional response to the Damascus attack would be to hit an Israeli diplomatic facility. The attack is likely to come between now and the end of Ramadan next week.

I am afraid you are right Zinsky. It is a trap. I would stay put and do not give an excuse to US and Israel. Aside from outside pressure, there is internal pressure too as they have to conduct some sort of revenge to at least let the people know that they do respond. I don't think they will attack Israeli or American embassies. They also should not attack anything USA. I think they will attack some Jewish community center in Africa that way US and Israel will not be obliged to respond or find it as an excuse to start a war.

It seems everyone from all corners of the world are pushing Iran to retaliate against the embassy attack. From US to Israel to Iranians living outside the country, all are daring IRI to do something. It seems like a trap to start a war.
