"We express our extreme concern over another dangerous escalation in the region," Russia's foreign ministry said in a statement on the Iranian attacks. "We call on all parties involved to exercise restraint."
Russia noted that Tehran had said the attack was made within the right to self defence after Israel's strike on the Iranian embassy compound in Damascus that Moscow condemned. Russia did not condemn the Iranian strikes on Israel.

Russia, which has close ties to Iran, said that the West had blocked attempts in the United Nations Security Council to respond to the Israeli strike on the embassy compound.
"We have repeatedly warned that the numerous unresolved crises in the Middle East, primarily in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, which are often fueled by irresponsible provocative actions, will lead to an increase in tension," the ministry said.

President Vladimir Putin's foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, spoke to Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian by telephone on Sunday.
"An further escalation of the situation in the region and dangerous new provocative actions may lead to an increase in tension," the Russian foreign ministry said in a readout of the call.
Israel was clearly unhappy with Moscow's response.
Israeli Ambassador to Russia Simona Halperin was quoted by Russia's RIA state news agency as saying the Jewish State expected Russia to condemn the Iranian attacks.

But that drew a swift public rebuke from Moscow.
"Remind me, when was the last time Israel condemned at least one of Kyiv’s attacks on Russian regions?" Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, referring to repeated Ukrainian attacks against targets inside Russia.
The Kremlin has yet to comment publicly.
But former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that a war between Israel and Iran would worsen Joe Biden's prospects of being re-elected U.S. president.
 
"America does not want a big war in the Middle East," Medvedev said on Telegram. "The killings in Gaza worsen Biden's prospects in the elections, and war between Israel and Iran would introduce additional uncertainty."

Situation in Iran for the past 40+ years has been similar to a cancer patient. It’s not getting better. It’s getting worse every day. The problem is that there are multiple doctors that have been arguing with each other on the best course of action. One wants to have a surgery and remove the tumor even if it means taking an organ with it. The other doctor wants chemotherapy and radiation. Another one believes diet and holistic remedies are the best way forward. When the patient says something, they all yell at him and say, we are the doctors. We know the best.
This fight keeps going, patient is getting worse and none of the doctors are willing to work with each other to help him.
One doctor that seems to be the craziest of all believes starving the patient is the best way. If you starve him, the rest of the body has no choice and will eventually attack the tumor and destroy it!
Poor patient. The tumor, in the meantime, is hoping they can’t come up with a real solution or at least agree on something and start helping the patient!

There is much hope that this war or pressure of war will claps IRI. I certainly hope so. I’m not sure what price will be paid but if the end is a free Iran, I’m for it. I’m just not convinced. I can’t recall another country in Middle East where a military attack ended up helping the people.
“Anything is better than this” seems to be the answer for many. I don’t agree but that seems to be the case these days.

True, Israel and Jordan are targets for Iran. But I thought Iran was done! Why is Lufthansa stopping to fly to these countries now? Have there been new threats?

Iraqi Kurdistan is an interesting term. It looks like Israel is trying to peal that region away from Iraq. The article that uses the term was published on Jerusalem Times.

DUBAI, April 14 (Reuters) - Major airlines across the Middle East announced they would resume operations in the region after cancelling or rerouting some flights as Iran launched dozens of drones and missiles at Israel through Saturday night into Sunday.
Emirates Airlines, which had cancelled some of its fights and rerouted others due to temporary airspace closures in the region, was resuming scheduled operations to and from Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq from Sunday afternoon, a spokesperson said.

Qatar Airways also resumed services to Amman, Beirut and Baghdad, it said in a post on X, while Etihad Airways was planning to operate scheduled passenger and cargo services between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv, Amman and Beirut starting from Monday.
Etihad warned that as services return to normal after the temporary closure of airspace across parts of the Middle East, "there may still be a risk of some knock-on disruption across Monday 15".

"Some of our flights have been affected by the temporary closure of a number of airspaces in the region," a statement from the United Arab Emirates' Fly Dubai was quoted on state news agency WAM as saying.
The attack had spurred similar announcements from Lebanon, Egypt and Kuwait following several Arab countries announcing the temporary closure of their airspace.
Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon announced on Sunday morning that they had reopened their airspace following the overnight attacks, while Israeli airlines said that operations were returning to normal after Israel reopened its airspace as of 7.30 a.m. (0430 GMT).

Faramarz, Iraqi Kurdistan and Israel are allies.  That is why Iran hits Iraqi Kurdistan whenever there is an Israeli mishap. Jordan is in peace treaty with Israel.  I don’t think Israel is going to attack Kurdistan and Jordan. Specially with both regions helping Israel intercepting Iranian missiles.

Lufthansa suspends its flights to and from Tel Aviv in Israel until Monday, as well as its flights to Amman in Jordan, and Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan, a spokesman says.

Following Iran’s unprecedented attack on Israel late Saturday, the German airline is “constantly monitoring the situation in the Middle East,” a spokesman tells AFP.

Flights to and from Beirut and Tehran will remain suspended until at least April 18, after the company said Friday its planes would no longer use Iranian airspace.
