Comments: I still don’t understand (I don’t think I ever will) how IRI picks who to arrest and later execute vs keeping them in jail for political reasons. They arrested thousands of people during the demonstrations. Majority were released with some of the leaders being executed and others getting long sentences! These types of courts (military, revolutionary or whatever you want to call them) don’t have rules like civilian courts. I’m not saying the civilian courts’ rules are fair or anything like that but at least there are some rules. There were multiple singers that had beautiful songs during Zan, Zendegoo, Azadi demonstrations. There are many who sing against the regime all the time. Some are left alone, others are arrested and let go, some are given long sentences and few are given death sentences. Is it due to their popularity? Is it because some say sorry under torture and others don’t?
