Comments: THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — South Africa urged the United Nations’ top court on Thursday to order a cease-fire in Gaza during hearings over emergency measures to halt Israel’s military operation in the enclave’s southern city of Rafah. It was the third time the International Court of Justice held hearings on the conflict in Gaza since South Africa filed proceedings in December at the court, based in The Hague in the Netherlands, accusing Israel of genocide. The country’s ambassador to the Netherlands, Vusimuzi Madonsela, urged the panel of 15 international judges to order Israel to “totally and unconditionally withdraw” from the Gaza Strip. The court has already found that there is a “real and imminent risk” to the Palestinian people in Gaza by Israel’s military operations. “This may well be the last chance for the court to act,” said Irish lawyer Blinne Ní Ghrálaigh, who is part of South Africa’s legal team.
Comments: Two day weekends!? Why not Thursday, Friday? Saturday is the first day of the work week!!
Comments: Israel accused in world court of trying to 'destroy Palestinian life South Africa asked the top international court Thursday to order a halt to the Rafah offensive, accused Israel of genocide and said the country's war effort "must be stopped" to protect the Palestinian people. South Africa’s legal representatives at the International Court of Justice, also known as the World Court, said Israel's shutdown of the Rafah and Kerem Shalom border crossings have plunged Gaza into "unprecedented levels of humanitarian need." They demanded Israel completely withdraw from Rafah, a city of 250,000 before the war that swelled to more than 1 million as refugees fled fighting elsewhere in Gaza.
Comments: Four Nobel Peace Prize laureates condemned the escalating executions in Iran on Wednesday as numbers continue to soar. The statement signed by Shirin Ebadi, Jody Williams, Tawakkol Karman and Leymah Gbowee, said Iran's regime is using capital punishment as a “political intimidation tool to spread fear, silence opposition and desperately hold on to power.” They noted that “on average, one person a day is executed in Iran on trumped up drug-related or vague religious infringement charges.” An average of one execution occurred every five hours over the course of two weeks, between April 16 and April 30, according to data presented by the Iran Human Rights organization (IHR). Between January and April 2024, 171 people, including six women, were executed. Since the Women, Life, Freedom protests broke out in 2022, during which over 550 protesters were killed, the Iranian government has increased the pace of executions significantly. In 2023 alone, the country saw at least 834 executions– more than half of which were carried out for drug-related offenses and disproportionately affected minorities such as Kurds. Amnesty International called the drug-related offenses trials “grossly unfair”. “further entrenching discrimination against marginalized communities” as Iran continues to persecute the country’s minorities. They also called on the UN Human Rights Council, the Special Rapporteur on Iran, and the investigative fact-finding mission "to prioritize the incorporation of a gender lens in their continuous efforts to accurately reflect the extent of gender persecution and gender apartheid in Iran."
Comments: That brings up an interesting question I had when I visited home. I have a family member who has a high ranking position with one of the government departments. Nothing political. It’s mainly a version of FCC. He is a scientist with in dept knowledge of wireless communications. Other family members were giving him lots of shit about his title. I wasn’t sure what to think about that. Does having a good position in current system automatically makes one a criminal?

Comments: New controversy for EST in the late stage of the season and a tight competition with PER for the title. He has become 'khadem' of Emam Zadeh Saleh and the haters are using this against him and calling him a 'hokomati setareh'! https://www.independentpersian.com/node/400116/%D9%88%D8%B1%D8%B2%D8%B4/%D9%81%D9%88%D8%AA%D8%A8%D8%A7%D9%84/%D8%A7%D8%B2-%D8%AA%D8%B9%D9%87%D8%AF%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%87-%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%86%DB%8C%D8%AA%DB%8C-%D8%AA%D8%A7-%D8%AE%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%85%DB%8C-%D8%A7%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%85%D8%B2%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%87-%D8%B5%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AD%D8%9B-%D9%86%DA%A9%D9%88%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%85-%D9%85%DB%8C%E2%80%8C%D8%AE%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%87%D8%AF-%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%87-%D8%AD%DA%A9%D9%88%D9%85%D8%AA%DB%8C-%D8%B4%D9%88%D8%AF

Comments: In the meantime, I’m looking for the next stock to follow. Keep you guys posted when I do!
Comments: My feeling is that it will go higher up to the news and will drop temporarily. Right now I believe $7-$8 is the target in the next few weeks. $12-$15 before the news. I can hold but my goal when I bought the stock was to make a certain amount. I’m going to stick to my plan. I never get disappointed if I make less money than I could, as long as I make money.
Comments: Mamnoon. I am going to stick around a bit longer and see how HUMA turns out.
Comments: Early August
Comments: Another 7% up for HUMA today so far. Do you know when the FDA approval is expected?
Comments: I’m going to act my age and avoid greed! I’m selling my HUMA stocks when they double from my average buying price which is coming soon.
Comments: Let’s hope part of this oil sale makes it to average Iranians. Lower $ has already helped a little. Prices are more stable for now. If we had a stable system back home, we could have seen even more drop in $ but most people don’t trust the system (for obvious reasons) and prefer to keep $ as saving.
Comments: Oops sorry about that big gap in the article. I am not sure what that is. Hoping Agha Faramarz can fix it. Sorry about that. |
