France take on Netherlands in one of the games of the Euro 2024 group stage tonight, with talisman captain Kylian Mbappe only fit enough for the bench after breaking his nose in the team’s opening game.

Mbappe broke his nose during France’s opening win over Austria on Monday and his fitness has been dominating headlines all week, with the 25-year-old superstar set to wear a mask should he return to the pitch.

Both France and Netherlands can book their place in the last-16 with a victory in Leipzig, with the Dutch also opening their campaign with a victory as they defeated Poland 2-1 thanks to Wout Weghort’s late winner.

In France’s case, victory would secure their place in the last-16 as group winners after Austria claimed a 3-1 victory over Poland in the earlier fixture in Group D.

I wonder whether these people died on the way to Haj or there! On the way would make less sense since it is all through airports and planes and so, presumably the heat would not affect them enough to kill them. But walking part of the Haj ceremony in the sun of arabia could be brutal!

The official death toll from this year’s Hajj pilgrimage has soared to almost 500 and the true toll could be more than double that as reports emerged that as many as 600 Egyptian worshipers perished on the route to Mecca amid extreme heat.
At least 14 Malaysians, 165 Indonesians, 68 Jordanians, 35 Pakistanis, 35 Tunisians, 11 Iranians and 98 Indians have died, according to authorities in each country. A further 22 Jordanians are hospitalized and 16 are still missing, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said.
Dozens of Iranians have also been hospitalized due to heatstroke and other conditions, the Iranian Red Crescent said Wednesday, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency.

اکبری در مورد دیدار با آلمان در پایان هفته سوم‌لیگ ملت‌ها گفت: نتیجه هیچ مسابقه‌ای را نمی‌شود پیش بینی کرد اما آلمان تیم خوبی است. تلاش می‌کنیم حداکثر توانمندی خود را به نمایش بگذاریم چون مهم است بازیکنان در شرایط بدنی نرمالی باشند و بتوانند عملکرد واقعی خود را به نمایش بگذارند.
مردان والیبال ایران ساعت ۶:۳۰ دقیقه روز یکشنبه سوم تیرماه در آخرین مسابقه خود در لیگ ملت ها ۲۰۲۴ به مصاف آلمان می‌روند.

These type of heat waves are becoming more frequent, starts earlier and lasts longer according to the people who lived here for decades.
Winters, on the other hand, are becoming shorter and less cold/snowy!
This one lasted 3 days with today being the peak. Went up to 97 degrees which meant it felt like 105! The AC could not bring the temperature below 78 inside even though it was on all day.
