You are absolutely right about Chinese diabetes news. They did the same with the Covid vaccines Sinopharm of China and Sputnik V of Russia. They were the best and the most effective vaccines but the US propaganda did not allow it to be imported and forced us to use Pfizer and Moderna.
 
The negative propaganda by the US about the Chinese and Russian vaccines was so spread that even high Iranian officials not only they used Pfizer they did not even use their own homemade effective vaccine the Barakat and the US did not allow Iran to export it. Whoever I know vaccinated with Pfizer and Moderna actually got the virus too.

To be honest, having seen the alternatives, I believe that the only hope that people of Iran have for change lies in a gradual internal change. Given what alternatives there are, this is the most likely scenario. IMO

Was in a gathering yesterday. Mostly Iranians and some other nationalities (friends and relatives of them).
As usual, conversation turned into politics. Iranians here are mainly either the ones who have been here for 50+ years or under 10-15 years. Very few of them are from right around the revolution.
The ones who have been here for a long time (before revolution) are mostly never visited Iran since they left in 60s and 70s.
The younger generation (30s & 40s of age) don’t want to talk about Iran at all. Their politics is mostly conservative. They don’t like immigrants of any sort.
Very different from Iranians in CA.

Some good news from Iran
Iranian dissident rapper Toomaj Salehi had his death sentence overturned by the Iranian Supreme Court this week in what his lawyers have deemed a victory for human rights in Iran.
Salehi had become a key voice of anti-government dissent in Iran, strongly criticizing the repressive nature of the Iranian regime through his musical output and social media posts. In October 2022, as fervent demonstrations gripped Iran following the death of a young girl, Mahsa Amini in morality police custody, Salehi threw his support behind the protest movement.
Salehi has claimed he was tortured and placed in solitary detention after being initially arrested in October 2022 for his involvement in the protest movement. After being briefly released from prison in 2023, Salehi was re-arrested for “making false claims and spreading lies,” according to Iranian judiciary news agency Mizan. He was then sentenced to death in May this year. A lower court in the central city of Isfahan found him guilty of the crime of “corruption on earth,” issuing the maximum punishment of death.

The VNL is over for Iran after the 3-0 loss to GER. The coach started many new players in this match. Iran is in a rebuilding stage and needs to get rid of some old players.
Overall Iran was able to place 15th and above TUR in the table which may mean they will not relegate to the Challenge Cup next year.
