It’s pretty sad that I can, technically, vote in two elections in the next few months and will not do either one.
I have never voted in any Iranian elections but have voted in 7 presidential election in USA.
After nearly 30 years, I will sit this one out. I have totally lost hope in the system as I have done with Iran.

What Trump has done is to merge the three powers into one. Judiciery has essentially disappeared with the ruling that they just had. It is now no longer to interpret the constitution and implement checks and balances onto the other two branches. It is only now relevant to the common people to settle things like rent disputes. They are no longer relevant to the president as they just became a part of the government.

But his effects are not limited to the US. His message of hate, defining everyone else as the enemy, and protectionism is fast spreading throughout the world. Hate is the easiest way to gather supporters and now any moron who does not have a political platform is adopting it and succeeding. Look at France.

The old saying that an idiot can dig a hole that a thousand wise men cannot fill from Iran perfectly describes the situation now. This is going to end in many wars,if not the world war.

I always believed that a president is not as important as we make them to be. They can make few changes here and there but the system won’t change drastically. That was my belief until Trump. Like him or hate him, he has made the US presidency different. There were basic understanding of the role. There were unwritten rules. Most presidents before him (maybe Nixon falls in the same category) were bound to follow basic rules, not because it was illegal but because it was understood.
With Trump it all went out of the window. He opened the can of worms and I don’t believe it could be put back together. With Supreme Court being so tilted and partisan, it will get even worse.
We are witnessing a massive change in American stand domestically and internationally.
He was elected solely based on the anger and the frustration of the Americans who were sick and tired of their government and leaders. His presidency could change America forever.
