Comments: In the days since the abrupt and unexpected obliteration of Iran as a dominant presence in Syria, the government has faced a fierce public backlash over the billions of dollars spent and the Iranian blood shed to back the Assad regime. The criticism has come from unexpected corners, including conservatives, and is flowing freely on television channels and talk shows, and in social media posts and virtual town halls attended by thousands of Iranians. It also appears on the front pages of newspapers every day. One former lawmaker, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, said in a social media post that Iranians should rejoice at the fall of Iran’s longstanding ally, President Bashar al-Assad of Syria. “No one will be able to waste Iran’s dollars for maintaining a spider web any more,” he said. While opponents of the government have long bristled at the money Iran has sent all over the Middle East, the sentiment now seems to have spread. Even some who fought on their government’s behalf in Syria or lost family members in the civil war there are asking if it was worth it.

Comments: That was what got me into arguments with the other group. One has to be critical of the system/government of the country they live in. It’s not being anti American or anti democratic. If I live here, I should appreciate all the good and highlight all the bad. Closing my eyes and saying this is the best country in the world doesn’t solve the problems we face where we live. It also isn’t about “me” only. I might be doing great but one has to look at the whole country and its people. I can and should be critical of my home country as well but in all reality, it’s more important for people living there to tell me how they feel rather than I telling them how they should feel. Most of the people who are critical of Iran are the ones who don’t have the balls to even visit their hometown. Lastly, don’t just hide behind your phone/computer and ask others to fight the system. I complain about stuff in America and have done what I can to make it better. Does it work? I don’t know but at least I try. I’m not going to ask others to do my work for me!
Comments: Shahryar Zinsky and Faramarz since the introduction last week, I have watched so many of George Carlin videos. I love this guy and how candid he talks about his own country and people. I feel that he is one of the verify few americans who is truly liberated and really understands that you need to remain critical and on your toes if you want to preserve a country's democracy.

Comments: Faramarz JAn, The George Carlin sampler I posted is indeed some of his best work. I highly recommend everyone to see in full-length, his final 5 pieces of work; they are incredible. I do not believe in gods and fairies, angles and demons, heaven and hell and Easter bunny or Santa clause; they are all make-belief. However, if there were ever a true prophet, it would be George Carlin This is the biggest complement I can give him, posthumously, of course.
Comments: The misinformation and propaganda is at its highest level now after Iraq invasion. This means something else about to happen. Maybe Iran will be involved directly, although I hope that is not the case. Many Innocent civilians will Parrish, if that were to happen.
