Israel will listen to the US but make final decisions based on its national interest, the Israeli prime minister's office said, as speculation over its response to a major Iranian missile attack continues.

The brief overnight statement was issued in response to a Washington Post story which said Benjamin Netanyahu had told the US he was willing to target military sites in Iran – rather than nuclear or oil facilities.

Citing two officials, the Post said Netanyahu made the comments during a phone call with US President Joe Biden last Wednesday, when they discussed Israel's intended retaliation.

Iran launched almost 200 ballistic missiles towards Israel on 1 October. Most of the projectiles were intercepted, Israel's military said.

به گزارش خبرنگار مهر، تیم‌های ملی فوتبال ایران و قطر در هفته چهارم رقابت‌های انتخابی جام جهانی ۲۰۲۶ امروز سه شنبه ۲۴ مهر در ورزشگاه راشد شهر دبی رو در روی هم قرار می‌گیرند. ایران ۷ و قطر در گروه A، با ۴ امتیاز به ترتیب در رده‌های دوم و چهارم قرار دارند و کسب ۳ امتیاز این بازی به هر دو تیم برای ارتقای رده خود در جدول کمک خواهد کرد.

سایت کنفدراسیون فوتبال آسیا AFC در رابطه با این بازی نوشت: تیم‌های ملی ایران و قطر آماده هستند تا در دیداری حساس در گروه A از رقابت‌های مقدماتی جام جهانی ۲۰۲۶ آسیا به مصاف هم بروند. این دیدار امروز سه‌شنبه در دبی برگزار می‌شود و از اهمیت ویژه‌ای برخوردار است. ایران و ازبکستان در صدر جدول گروه قرار دارند، در حالی که یک پیروزی برای قطر می‌تواند این تیم را به امتیازات ایران برساند.

ایران در بازی اخیر خود مقابل ازبکستان به تساوی بدون گل رضایت داد و حالا باید تلاش کند تا مقابل قطر امتیاز از دست ندهد. مشکل اصلی برای امیر قلعه‌نویی، سرمربی تیم ملی ایران، کمبود گلزنی است. ایران در سه مسابقه اخیر خود تنها دو بار موفق به گلزنی شده و این مسئله نگرانی‌هایی را برای کادر فنی به وجود آورده است.

در سوی مقابل، قطر با پیروزی ۳ بر یک مقابل قرقیزستان اولین برد خود در این مرحله از رقابت‌ها را جشن گرفت. مارکز لوپز، سرمربی قطر، امیدوار است که این پیروزی محرکی برای تیمش باشد تا برای اولین بار با شایستگی به جام جهانی صعود کنند.

قطری‌ها از لحاظ روانی برتری دارند، چرا که در نیمه‌نهایی جام ملت‌های آسیا در فوریه گذشته، ایران را در دیداری پرهیجان ۳-۲ شکست داده‌اند و با اعتماد به نفس به مصاف ایران می‌روند.

Reza, he showed that he wants to do a coup on Jan. 6. But he also showed that not only he does not know how but also he does not have the balls to do it. The fact that he wants to do a coup is no longer in question and the fact that he is not behind bars only speaks to incompetence of the system in exercising self defense against tyrants.

What he is doing now is mulling with the idea of a coup again. He is just too scared to come out and straight out say it and also does not know whether the military will follow him (which speaks to his not knowing how to do this-he and people around him are quite dim witted).

Two attendees had incidents requiring medical attention during Trump's town hall tonight in Oaks, Pennsylvania.
Roughly 30 minutes into the event, the town hall was paused and Trump asked for "Ave Maria" to be played while the first person was attended to. A man was taken out of the room during the first incident and pumped his fist in the air as he was leaving.
The music was played again during the second medical incident as Trump and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who was moderating the town hall, waited silently onstage.
Such incidents occur frequently at Trump's campaign events, often because of heat and how long supporters spend standing. Trump's town hall tonight got underway about 50 minutes after its scheduled start time.
Noem at one point referred to the temperature's being "really warm" at the indoor campaign event while encouraging people to take their seats after the second incident.
Trump also commented on the campaign location's being warm and asked about air conditioning before the town hall continued minutes later.

Former President Donald Trump also hit the trail in the state, with a town hall outside Philadelphia that was paused twice for medical incidents in the audience before it turned into a musical event.

I am watching the highlights and it looks like FIFA's new rule has not reached Europe yet. Several hand ball calls for accidental ball hitting the arm. They decided the outcome of at least two games!
