A weekend poll showed 69 percent of Israelis favoring a deal with Hamas to return the remaining 101 hostages in exchange for an end to the Gaza war, with 20 percent opposed. A majority believed Netanyahu's political needs were blocking it. The argument for ignoring them—and not saving the lives of the hostages and countless Gazans—is that Hamas cannot be allowed to retain control of the territory.
That seems like a decent argument: Hamas has stated consistently that it will repeat the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre as many times as it can, and it runs a brutal and murderous dictatorship. They should not be allowed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in the cataclysmic war they sparked.

I am in the panic camp. :)

I hear some pretty scary thing from within NIH. Things that would set US behind China in health science and medical research for decades. Things as drastic as suspending all infectious disease research in revenge of COVID and Fouci are pretty scary. But even worse is talk of no need for vaccine and drug research. We'll have to wait and see. But it is a fact that the country is in the hands of a bunch of people who have no clue what they are doing and only appointing high positions based on loyalty. They are proposing mass cleansing of DoJ! This happened in Iran 50 years ago and we have yet to recover. If Trump manages to rig the system and stay on, either himself or through a proxy, we have to do a fAtehe for this country.

The after election anxiety is real and widespread. I’m at the camp who wants to be semi optimistic. I want to believe the overall system will work enough to prevent a total meltdown. I don’t know what will happen but the best I can do is to wait and see. Many people are truly scared. I’m trying to live the present. I can’t do shit about the future…

Reza I did not know US and Israel are not a member of ICC. The New York activist Abdullah Akl is mad and now wants ICC to arrest US President🤣

For months, the US has found ways to shield Israel, refusing to support a ceasefire or an arms embargo, even as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) said Israel's actions in Gaza amount to a "plausible genocide".
