The less he plays, the worse his performance becoming. I watched one of his games and his teammates don’t feed him at all. He has to fight for the ball even from his teammates.

Americans have not accepted the fact that stuff are relatively cheap (at least were) because of cheap foreign workers. Fruits and vegetables, beef and chicken, eggs and milk are cheap (relative to income) because almost all the workers are foreign workers (documented or not). The rest are coming from china or other countries with much cheaper labor.
They need to find a way to process workers in either temporary or permanent bases. These jobs are not stolen from Americans, they just can’t or don’t want to do them.

Wow great discussion n great summary faramarz.

Here is statistics that would shock most of trump fans: most artisans who work for the us navy are from the Philippines n most cannot even read or speak english well. Assembly instructions have to be written in very simple english n then be supervised with a native english speaking to make sure they understand the instructions. but hey they show up at 4am, break for lunch at 8am n r done with their day by 1pm. there is no way u can get very many locals do those hours. they rather struggle for survival.

That is the thing. US population constantly feels like they are struggling to survive while their earnings/productivity ratio remains way out of wack compared to their counterparts say in Bangladesh or Iran. This is because any exertion of effort feels excessive and unusual. Everything is expensive (partly a function of people having too much money in their hands and partly due to the system that is set up to drain you out of your money), they have to tighten the budget and this seems a struggle with all the stuff that basic workers have gotten used to having.

Faramarz,
Very good explanation. Americans don’t get the issue. Large majority of people in this country are so busy with survival that they can’t understand what is happening to them.

Zinsky I believe the culprit is the culture that America has built for itself. I have talked about this before, and here is a long summary: [smile]

The same basic worker here in the USA (say a mine worker, a teacher, a cashier, etc.) makes 10 to 100 times what the same job would bring in the third world. Why is that and how can an economy sustain this? The answer is that it cannot, unless you have a positive deficit between capital influx and outflow. This is the case with the united states. Most of the capital outflow is the investment that US makes in foreign countries by the companies + some government handouts to other governments to shut up/play the game US wants them to play. But the capital influx is not just all the earnings that those investments bring back. The wealth that people voluntarily take out of their country and bring it here is enormous. Now why do they do that? It is because of either financial or safety insecurity of where the wealth was acquired. So, it is a tremendous business for the US to make the rest of the world unstable, unsafe, and poor. A small portion of that money then trickles down to people who do the basic chores of the society.

You might say well US is taking care of its people that way. Well, not really. Aside from the moral standards that in every society, religion, school of thought makes it wrong to harm others for your own pocket, you also are training your people to do very little work for the undeserved money. This develops a sense of entitlement, laziness, and all sorts of other behavioral issues that has been bogging down the US economy for decades.

So, what have geniuses in Washington done about this? Well, instead of reversing the policy of destabilization of good governments (we have seen this in our country in many rounds), installation of corrupt dictators (Syria, Egypt, almost all other Arab countries, south/central america), or when all else fails war, they implement the policy of brain drain to get the workers they need to run their economy.

This has worked for decades. The problem is that now we have China as a major economic super power. China's trade deficit with the USA is + for China. Also while china allows wealth to exit its country, it is not stupid like Arabs, it is limited, controlled, and demands ownership which leads to a lot of stuff in the USA suddenly belonging to the Chinese (including a big portion of the national debt) who are visibly foreigners. This is not only squeezing the pie for the USA but also makes people feel that economic squeeze. With their sense of entitlement and laziness they then start wondering why are all these foreigners here. They are stealing our jobs and money which then leads to insecure and bigot people emerge in politics and win elections.

So, now Trump and Musk are stuck in a dilemma: How to bring even more foreign workers in while looking like they are kicking them out. Use of US workers is a hopeless task not just for the hi-tech but also for agriculture and a lot of other intense jobs.

Musk finally said what it has been said about foreign workers. He wants more of them in tech sector. He believes Americans are not capable of doing the job and are too lazy!
That’s fine but the same has been said about foreign workers doing the same in agriculture, construction, hospitality and other sectors.
Overall, Americans are not good workers! Not all of course. This country needs foreign workers to do the jobs Americans can’t or won’t do!
The problem is the system is not built to get them legally. Even that part of the job needs foreign workers!!!

I kind of agree with both parts of your son's message about Quantum computing and the general health of the equity in 2025.
The stock market in 1H25 will be mixed due to the expected tramp policies.
It might get worse or get better on the second half, depending on tramp's negotiating skills .
All his policies are inflationary if the negotiating last longer and he keeps those policies in effect.
Brave for impact 😏
