Comments: Technically the goal was offside by less than 5cm based on the rules. The problem is the rule that was applied is very rarely happens ![[biggrin]](https://cdn.websitetoolbox.com/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif "Big Grin - :D") The rule is that when the keeper is not the last player closest to the goal then the last defender closest to the goal is considered the keeper in applying the offside rule. That means the other EGY defender was the keeper and Shoja was in an offside position. I bet a dime that this rule will be changed by FIFA. The reason being is that the keeper chooses to come out of his goal and not be the last player so the rule is punishing the attacking team for the decision by the opponent.
