Comments: Trump had a terrible miscalculation. He knows he has no leverage with Putin. His mistake was that he thought he had a leverage with Zelensky and could bully him into submission. But what he is asking Zelensky is a political suicide and an end to Ukraine. There is no way that Zelensky can accept that. This is something that the dim US president could not foresee and led to the crazy scenes with the ass licker Vance.

Comments: By the way, I wonder how Fred from Australia feels now. China is already emboldened and putting pressure on Australia. I wonder if Five Eyes still has a meaning when USA shared all intelligence with Russia, has already gone after two members of five eyes with tariffs and territorial conquest.
Comments: Europe still on denial: "UK and France lead a European effort to put a Ukraine proposal to United States. This is a great example of the denial. The war is between Ukraine and Russia but the proposal is going to USA. Obviously they are still hoping to separate USA from Putin. These politicians completely miss what is obvious to all the masses. The reason: This is their routine. They do not know how to operate otherwise. My opinion is that they will be bitterly shocked by USA's reaction. It will either be hard refusal or gradual sabotage of the plan in time.
Comments: Zinsky, what you say is unfortunately the reality of the world now. For good or bad, China and Russia have much greater will than USA and Europe put together. Europe is completely parallelized in the new world where the lion is not there to make the kill for it and so the vulture is going starved now. The USA has other issues and badly compromised. For decades now, it has lost its moral and ethical basis. This was done long ago but was holding things together by military and financial blackmail. Now, USA has is actively losing its will to go to war (which is good) but also actively is destroying its own economy internally and externally through alienating its allies. On top of all this, USA is now led by an insecure man who idolizes dictators and is implementing other country's foreign policies. So, start learning Chinese and Russian.
Comments: Faramarz, I really don’t understand the whole euro thing! What are they good for? It was supposed to be a unified force but they are just worse than US! Russia and China are unfortunately the winners. They will have most of the power going forward.
Comments: I think what Europe is slowly starting to realize is that this is not just about Ukraine and it is more broadly about the future of Europe and the role it is willing to play. So far, all I am hearing from Europe is still that "we can't do it without USA", hoping that Trump will come to their rescue. What Europe naively is thinking is that Trump is just another American President observing the basics of traditional American lines of allegiance. Just like people who face catastrophic situations, I believe Europe to be in denial of the fact that for all practical purposes, America is now doing the bidding for Russia, and that it is more aligned with Putin than Europe. And so, it will never help Europe to fight Putin. Statements like "Europe cannot do this without America" coming out of England are based on naivete assumptions and denial of the facts on the ground, IMO. Unless some significant local challenge presents itself to Trump that renders him compromised, he will continue on this path. Europe needs to come out of the denial and take on the leadership in helping Ukraine by itself. Together they have a bigger economy than US. This is a fundamental shift in global roles. It will be interesting to see whether Europe can leave the role of the world's lazy parasitic leach and become a global power. Very curious to see how this will work out. If I were a betting man, I would bet that Europe will not find this proverbial backbone and Ukraine will be sacrificed. Europe then will have to deal with an emboldened Russia, a NATO at the verge of collapse, and a Russia eying NATO countries in eastern Europe with support of the United States.
