It makes no sense what so ever what Trump is doing, unless he or someone in his camp is taking advantage of the situation.

Very nice game today between EST and Nasr of Saudi. Azadi was full capacity and the fans got an exciting game to watch. NAS was the more dominant team but EST hung in there and had their chances. EST keeper was the best player, he seems in top form which might give GN a chane of heart at the starting keeper for TM.
Tomorrow TER will host another Saudi team in the 2nd division and they should win it since they got a winning coach [biggrin]

Now he’s just hours away from lobbing tariffs on not just one or two but all three of America’s biggest trading partners.
Starting on Tuesday, Trump has vowed to impose a 25% tariff on imported goods from Mexico and Canada, and to double tariffs on those from China to 20%. However, what ends up going into effect could significantly change down to the wire. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told CNN’s Pamela Brown and Wolf Blitzer on Monday he expects the president to make a final decision “this afternoon.”

شرکت در مراسم اسکار برای حسین ملایمی و شیرین سوهانیآسان نبود. آنها برای گرفتن ویزای آمریکا دردسرهای فراوانی را پشت سر گذاشتند و برای گرفتن وقت مصاحبه در سفارت آمریکا چندین روز در عمان سرگردان ماندند. در نهایت یک روز پیش از مراسم ویزای آنها رسید و توانستند یک ساعت پیش از شروع مراسم به لس‌انجلس برسند. ‌

آنها به بهمن کلباسی، خبرنگار بی بی‌سی فارسی گفته بودند حتی ممکن است نتوانند به موقع برای شرکت در مراسم برسند و چون وقتی برای تبلیغ فیلمشان برای اعضای آکادمی نداشتند، تصور نمی‌کردند بخت چندانی برای بردن اسکار داشته باشند. ‌‌

This has been a problem with any superpower. No one can trust any of them. From Russia to China to USA. They ask others to do something and promise to do something in return. The smaller country unwittingly accepts with the “hope” to get what they need. The big guys don’t have to keep their promises.
Ukraine was given a certain guarantees to be protected if they give away their nukes.
Unfortunately, USA has become the least reliable partner. They could change their minds with a simple explanation, “we have a new administration”! We don’t need to keep our promises because that guy is no longer in charge!!!

Trump had a terrible miscalculation. He knows he has no leverage with Putin. His mistake was that he thought he had a leverage with Zelensky and could bully him into submission. But what he is asking Zelensky is a political suicide and an end to Ukraine. There is no way that Zelensky can accept that. This is something that the dim US president could not foresee and led to the crazy scenes with the ass licker Vance.
